Hello, I’m Ella Aguilar.

Let’s Connect

I am a New Orleans-born, Texas-raised transplant here in Missouri. My parents own a Custom Woodworking Business, and my mom is also a Church Secretary and Notary.

I graduated from high school in 2017, where I was grateful to receive a private school education on an athletic scholarship at St. Mary’s in Longview, Texas.

In September of 2021, while I was living in Colorado and experiencing the United States, my boyfriend, Austin, passed away in a motorcycle accident in St. Louis. I moved to Missouri and decided to stay put for the time being.

I attended Tyler Junior College remotely, where I received my Associate’s Degree in Business Administration in 2022.

I later attended the University of Missouri remotely, where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Communication in 2025.

During my time at Mizzou, I joined Lambda Pi Eta and Phi Sigma Pi, two honor fraternities where I was recognized for my academic achievements. I later became the Secretary of Lambda Pi Eta for the 2024-2025 Academic Year, and the first online student to hold an officer position in the fraternity. I also completed all four tiers of the Phi Sigma Pi Executive Leadership Program, where I gained extensive knowledge about leadership and team building.

Additionally, I was a member of the Mizzou Media, Overwatch, VALORANT, and League of Legends Club. During the 2023-2024 school year, I was a Broadcast Manager for the Overwatch Club and the team manager for the Game Changers VALORANT team, which I helped recruit and push to the Esports Coordinator. During the 2024-2025 school year, I was the President of the League of Legends Club and Broadcast Manager for the Overwatch Club, and became the first online student to hold an officer position.

I was also selected for the Department of Curators Scholarship during the 2024-2025 academic year.
I was also nominated as an Outstanding Senior and Graduate by my professors and advisors during my final semester, where I was recognized at graduation.

During my time at Mizzou, I attended an internship through the Global Career Accelerator Program, learning how to promote a Shopify store and create ads and content for Meta using SEO keywords.

Additionally, I worked for HubSpot Academy in their internship program, learning how to use HubSpot CRM. I worked with two small businesses, CLiCKAPAD and Third Wunder, to create advertising campaigns for their business or product that they used to increase their content reach and visibility.

Professionally, I am a reporter for a newspaper and media group here in Missouri. I am also a freelance marketing strategist for my parents’ business, helping them build their internet presence.

Personally speaking, I have a seventeen-year-old Red-Eared Slider turtle named Opie, and four cats: Skaters, Ninja, Momo, and Henry.

My boyfriend, Nathan, and I have been living together for three years now, and he has been my motivation professionally to build my career through hard work, effort, and dedication.

I am currently writing my first novel, a romance series, that I hope to complete before the end of the year.

I have also started an independent project, Indies Writing for Indies, interviewing Indie Authors like myself so that they can use my articles for their own book promotions.
