If you haven’t heard, I have started accepting authors for my “Indies Write for Indies” Project, where I will be reading indie authors books and interviewing them afterwards about their book and who they are as an author!
Currently reviewing through the first 20 applications and receiving all of the information I need, as well as any additional ones that pop up from giving my email out in private messages.
I am very excited for this project. When I interviewed Marissa last week it was so much fun talking to another author about their book, especially since I read it and got to enjoy that world she created. The idea came because I feel like I don’t have a lot of people I can talk about books about and asking questions about what they thought about the book too.
So, in an effort to find more indie books to read, I came up with this idea, interviewing authors about their books and giving them publication about their book so there is more ways to grow. Works out in my favor as well since I want more books and will buy the physical trophy if I love it anyway. I also get to build my website, social media, and connections while doing something I love, reading and yapping about it.
I also believe in growing naturally through connections and where they can lead you. Being a communication major taught me that you can gain the best connections through how you communicate. So, I want to use my writing as my way to communicate, because that’s what I know how to do best, yap.
Asking the right questions and also knowing how to be an open communicator were the strongest lessons I learned in college and made me a stronger writer as well.
I will admit, I sucked terribly at understanding context clues and reading comprehension in middle school. I didn’t start understanding all of it until I started studying for my bachelors thanks to communication and journalism classes.
I have started reading the first book, The Devil May Care by Elian Rowe, so the process has begun!
