Mindf*ck Series Books 1-5
Part One
Lana FREAKING Myers. I love her.
Book One: The Risk

“I love humanity but I hate humans.” – Albert Einstein
This introductory book of this series helps introduce us to Lana, a traveling appraiser/serial killer with a dark history she keeps hidden, and Logan, a FBI Agent who catches serial killers and believes in following the law.
The first book does an amazing job of introducing the key characters such as Jake, Lana’s Silent Partner in the Appraising business as well as her Partner in murder, and Craig, Hadley, Lisa, and Elise
I enjoy that Logan caught on that Lana was really not interested in wanting to live. Him talking about how much life sucks and using it as a way to give his phone number to her really brought in the whole attraction of Logan and what drew Lana into him.
In Logan’s professional investigations, he’s investigating a few serial killers, one being the Boogeyman, a smaller one in New York that they arrest thanks to Lana being informative, and the other who is unnamed at the time being Lana. They also discover that the victims are all from the same area, which shows into Lana’s past and why she’s killing these specific men.
(How does this man not own a TV by the way is hilarious!)
The first book only brings in snippets of what happened to Lana with her recalling memories of her trauma, how she faked her death and stole a dead woman’s identity, Logan discovering her scars, and the death of her brother, Marcus, from the day of the trauma.
Hadley being her snoopy self is always fun once you get to know her, but the cliffhanger left by her was insane.
